And now there is snow

According to my serious haiku-writing friend, English syllables are much longer than the Japanese equivalent (they're more like - I think - phonemes), so most haiku written in English are too long.

I'm in a translating mood. Who'd like some Queneau?

I translated this but then realised it's a bit too grim.
Will look again.

Watching the Parisienne upper classes at play in Call My Agent on Netflix. Episode one has plenty of action. One of the plot devices has a 40 year old actress getting turned down for a Tarantino part unless she gets lipo filler. I think the actor playing the actress has already had that done to her coupon.
La Casa De Papel slightly grittier, watching that as dubbed version to lighten the heaviosity
And obvs. Series six of Friday Night Dinner on terrestial. My son cant stand it as it is the same joke each week, which is its genuius. Shaaaaalom

Ach here you go. Queneau's Tous les droits
Rhyming scheme is beyond me.We have the right to wear rags
When ten battles are lost
We have the right to wear rags
When we command an armyWe have the right to a doublet
When the sky turns mauve
We have the right to a doublet
When the horizon sees the dawnWe have the right to wear clogs
When the fields are on the warpath
We have the right to wear clogs
When the snails rejoiceWe have the right to a diving suit
To court a mermaid
We have the right to a diving suit
When our heart gets too softWe have the right to wear lambswool
When our soul is overweight
We have the right to wear lambswool
When we save our own baconWe have the right to
A good shroud
When the earth ends when the night tolls
We have the right to wear our shroud
When it's time to go underground
