I have a well-used Islabikes Luath 26 for sale. This is their road/cross bike, with drop bars. Suit a child 9+. £50.

It's an earlier model than on the Islabikes website. It's actually this one: the frame is overall metallic gunmetal grey with blue cross bar and down tube. It's got full mudguards and Schwalbe Marathon tyres.

Since I had it, I've replaced the bar tape, the cables and the brake blocks.

They are £700 new, but this one is not a suspicious bargain for £50: it's a fair price for the condition. I have seen a picture of its previous owner riding it up Mt Ventoux and it has had a lot of miles in its life. The frame is straight and the wheels are true and everything works, but the paint shows the chips and scratches you'd expect. There is beausage wear on the saddle and on the frame from pedalling.

If there is someone in your life "Approx min age 9+, approx min height 148 cm" who would like a drop-barred bike Islabike that you don't need to worry about, then this might be the one for you.

Available for socially-distanced collection from Morningisde. PM me if you're interested.

P.S.In case you were wondering: definition of beausage.

How old is the bike? I may be interested but would need to work out how to store it for a while as he's a little short for now.

Is the sizing the same as the current model? ie min height 138 rather than 148.

I'd be very interested if @acsimpson passes.

likewise (but i think my youngest will probably go straight from his 24" to the well-ridden luath 700 small - also a hand-me-down from a CCE-er)

If others are interested then don't keep it for me. We already have a next bike space problem in our garage. Although if whoever gets it thinks of me when they get rid of it I'd be grateful.

Thanks all - I think the order of the queue is:
    1) The person who PM'd me straight away but hasn't made themselves known on this thread.
    2) @urchaidh
    3) @SRD
    4) @acsimpson [although I do hope that who gets it does pass it on to @acsimpson in due course]

To answer the acsimpson question, it's quite old. It's exactly the same model as the one in the Bike Radar review I posted a link to, and that dates from 2007...

Now handed over. Thank you for your interest. In the slightly incestuous world that is the shadowy Edinburgh Cycling Mafia, it was collected by someone on behalf of the original requestor who (a) lives a few doors down from me (b) has a daughter who was in the same class at school as micro-Greenroofer and (c) came out to my work to explore proposals for a closer working relationship between our BUG and his organisation.

@greenroofer, your buyer does value their privacy

They may value privacy, but I suspect of you have enough time to trawl CCE you could work out who it is.

@acsimpson, maybe, but that might be a bit like playing @baldycyclict’s wife’s sister’s husband’s father game (nice that he buys this person a birthday card though innit)

I'd just like to fess up here that it is I who got @ejstubbs' surplus eyewear. They're perfect and I made the exchange good with the standard CCE token of two beers (Williams Brothers Seven Giraffes since you ask - high quality, easy drinking suits all tastes ale).
