    Saughton Gardens has been opened for a month or so. I suppose it's got a lot more access points than the Botanics, which only has 2 gates.

    “only has 2 gates“

    There are actually more (not in regular public use), but two is ideal for a one-way system!

    I presume they won’t actually try to do that?

    Did the North gate not used to be open? Possibly before (or while) the new John Hope building was constructed.

    There are gates along from JH which might have been used. I wonder if they will be used now instead of ‘shop entrance’.

    North gate was used for the light show when I went. Can’t remember if that was first or second year.

    ISTR the north gate being used when ash dieback or some such other plant disease was on the rampage a number of years ago. I certainly remember have to walk over a decontamination mat there.

    Presumably the 'new normal' will be visitors having to roll around on the decontamination mat before being granted entry.

    @jdanielp - naah, they'll install a car-washing style system that you walk through. :-)
