Just been to the dump at Sighthill. All good. Slot booked. You have to drive in to the college carpark then perform a U turn. Dump staff helpful and good humoured.

Great Tom Waits story of when he became famous and went down tot he record shops in LA to see the fans and nobody recognised him. Next week he was taking stuff to The Dump where he was mobbed by fans

Did you remember your two forms of identification and proof of address?

  3. Only need that if you have a van :)

As it happens I did Seafield on Wednesday. Pretty well organised, though they can't take old engine oil, so the big tub of that I have will have to go to Craigmillar.

We did have the two forms of ID and proof of address

    But

There had been some issue with the car two in front and this caused a big tailback on the Bankhead autobahn

So we were all waved through Maybe just on number plates.. sighthill has the oil for recycling capacity

after breakfast (I do not listen to them during breakfast) they had changed to calling it the Tip as The Dump is american

But then one of them mentioned Stig of The Dump

    Quality item!
Was half awake for the tale of Kenny (?) from Portobello who walked to the dump, presumably Seafield, with his bag of rubbish but was turned away.

I went to Seafield the other week. I was half-expecting to be the only person there during my timed slot but there were about ten cars there, so the same as normal but without the queue approaching from Seafield Road. It said no wheelie bins or tonne bags so I had to be sneaky to empty my bag of garden clippings into the appropriate skip.
