    Interesting that this seems to contradict with Dutch safety data. My hunch would be that this is mostly to do with lower theft - e-bike riders are maybe more likely to use them on a fixed commute with secure storage at either end rather than tying them up to a lamppost or in a stairwell, as you might be more inclined to do with a normal bike.

    I suppose there's maybe a demographics aspect too - if you own an ebike you're likely to be older and richer and therefore more likely to have space for secure storage at home, have fancy secure storage at your workplace and live/work in a lower-crime area.

    Are you more likely to be transporting children on an e-bike too perhaps? That would certainly make me more risk averse!

    Is there a breakdown of claims data by reason?
