    Greetings all,
I have been given the task of planning a route for a cycle run from Edinburgh to London, the aim is to do around 110(ish) miles a day, camping overnight (meeting a support vehicle) and to use cyclepaths/routes if at all possible to avoid bad traffic (if that is viable).

Unfortunately I don't know any cycle routes south of the Pentlands(!), hence this plea...

does anyone have info/suggestions/a route they could recommend?

All and any info would be gratefully appreciated... thanks!

"to use cyclepaths/routes if at all possible"

Obviously Sustrans has NCN 1 but it meanders a lot and will not be all tarmac.

    How many days?

@Smudge - The charity ride thread got me and a colleague thinking about planning our own London to Edinburgh ride for the late spring / summer. We were mentioned 4 days, something like 80/120/120/80-ish ratio and probably just hostel or B&B it. I'll let you know what I turn up.

    Four days.
Should be four "cyclists" (three actual competitive and me) who are properly aware of what is involved, four extremely fit but non cyclists who start intensive training the beginning of next month. (the run will be in early May).
I think everyone will be fine, but the training may sting the non-cyclists a bit! (and me too lol)

2009's London-Edinburgh-London Audax generally follows quiet roads where possible.
See http://www.aukweb.net/el/index for the route and profile etc
