Was rammed yesterday, most of the mountain bikers coming by car. We were a little earlier than usual so probably came in just after 10 a.m. did not look like much parking left.

No1 Peebles Road cafe has reopened for take away so was all cyclists sitting around outside.

The main two staff back on really know how to work their customers. They do it very cheerfully. I put a mask on which encouraged many of the large group who had arrived proudly from Edinburgh -41 miles. As they had not been on the Granites I am assuming they came in from Walkerburn. Looking at the map this looks possible. Head out Dalkeith, Pathhead and short schlep on A7 then coach road through Stow and then all the way down towards the A72.

I am then assuming back up the Granites.

Is this more easterly route to Innerleithen one that people take? Does not make any sense for me coming from Balerno but could be an option post Covid via train to Stow,....?

@gembo - regular rider there is @nobrakes as he's based in Stow. He does circuit round by Walkerburn to make loop.
Sometimes solo, sometimes tandem. On Strava.

@laidback, yes I think @nobrakes maybe did this circuit for 24 hours? Stopping at his house for lunch and tea.

Stow, back road to Clovenfords via WindyDoors, Caddonfoot, Then back road up the valley to Innerleithen. I would avoid the A72 and stick to the Traquair back road. Then back into Innerleithen and over the granites. It’s a lovely loop. The section from Caddonfoot to
Innerleithen is really nice forested road. We come back via Heriot and Fountainhall but you can go over the Granites to Middleton and then on to Newtongrange avoiding A7.

We did it today on the tandem - https://strava.app.link/hueG85jIf8
