    Alpkit do a dry bag 20 liters for the handlebars. However, that is not the question.

    there are a good few - i would prefer a rucsac and i have a small budget as my work rucsac getting soaked with resting on wet stuff etc i carry two heavy D locks as well.

    LOMO have few dry bag rucksacks at that price. Based in Glasgow and good quality despite the low prices.

    Aha yes the white one has RiDE best buy. That is a serious recommendation. I have quite a bit of RiDE recommended stuff - socket set, torque wrench and waterproofs.

    Alpkit also do the Gourdon 20 litre drybag rucksac. It's a fraction over your budget but seems to be well regarded. It used to be exactly what it says in the blurb: a drybag with straps. It has evolved a little over time, and now has mesh side pockets and zig-zag bungee cords across the back (?front?) which I imagine could be useful for stashing lightweight wet gear away from the stuff you want to keep dry (or indeed vice versa, if the wet stuff is inside the pack). Actually the Gourdon 25 litre is closer to the philosophy of the original Gourdon, having none of the external stashing features, but is more expensive than the 20 litre.

    Another vote for the Lomo rucksac: it has taken my work kit on the motorbike in awful conditions - and always kept it dry to the other end

    Iamrunbox do one for ten times the price. (Well 299 euros) also straps on to your bike and is called Bike Box. Looks like everyth8ng would fall out and then it would fall off.

    What about something actively spiky like a domestic cat? Would that fall out?

    Yes, the roll top feature points down towards the road. Gravity dear boy would have a hold on you if you were a domestic cat in such a situation. You would roll slowly towards the closure and then edge your way out of the bag.

    The only exception would be if @morningsider had been employed to roll the closure shut. The impeccable nature of @morningsider’s roll top closure technique is worth an OBE in my book.

    Yes, few people can make a roll-top properly watertight but @Morningsider's are airtight.

    Thinking about it a cat could be carried as a self-adhesive rucksack.

    @Morningsider’s ortliebs are vacuum sealed.

    "Thinking about it a cat could be carried as a self-adhesive rucksack."

    Not sure the deep gashes to shoulders and midriff would be worth it, TBH. Strong possibility of sepsis or toxoplasmosis...
