Getting your kit on to go out for a recce and then the snow falling heavily just as you open your front door?

    Reality check?

Still better than being half way up the Whang when it came on, a cold and lonely spot you understand.

That word is 'Scotland'. Trying to imagine the glorious landscape that you would see were it not for the supersonic horizontal hail stripping the flesh from one side of your face etc.

    Autumn now lasts five months.

It's all melting around here - heavy rain/sleet showers. Eek. We managed to get in a good exploratory walk around our hood between showers. Hopefully it will be "nice" enough for a road cycle this pm (need a break from indoors cycling hell).

Weather fronts mov8ng eastwards, forecasts constantly changing. Roads not icy but the dreaded slush is to the fore. The drivers through FFS they are not slow8ng down today at all.

Also gritter just went round Balerno then out the Whang

    “see In the Deep Midwinter“

    That was MidEurope.

“now doesn’t even get cold until New Year“

    Now it’s MidClimateCrisis.

The phrase you are looking for gembo is "nice day for a walk instead".

@cyclingmollie, if only, the routes up this way are lethal ice rinks. The main road is enticing me. Now.

Yes - also pretty bad around Dalkeith. Not suitable for walking this morning. It's one of those weird days when the temperature is above zero but there's sheet and balck ice everywhere.
    Bike fixing day!
