Many years ago on the recommendation of a CH from East Fife I bought some decent pedals one side flat one side cleat. Was contemplating running them with winter boots (epic fail of the Boa fastener that neither Spesh, Shim, Boa or more pertinently EBC felt like helping with). Anyway they sat in garage for several years. Then they went on my commut8mg bike but only ever used the flat sides.. today went out for pootle with cleats on and tried to use the other side. The cleats would not engage. Easy enough to get where I was pootlimg using the flat side but quit odd. May be I can adjust at leisure as I have waited probably seven years to put a cleat in them

@gembo
Those cleats are sulking big time.

@iwrats, yes in a wide mouthed frog sort of way. Such that the cleat don’t fit the pedal

Which ones do you have? We have a few pair that work fine, but mtb cleats.

@SRD is Shimano sumfink. There is a thread here where CH of west Fife points out the bargain.
They are SPD compatible I think

I will carve you a set of wooden SPD pedals. Be ready Tuesday.

Very kind IWRATS does this mean you. Have finished the geetar?

Well, not quite no. I assembled it to see if it worked and it did so I have disassembled it and begun the cycles of varnish, sanding, wire-wool and waxing the wooden parts.
