I have a vertical tear in the sidewall of Black Chilli compound Conti road tyre. Is at hi pressure an a sort but if black plastic is protruding a little.

Can I glue it just run with it or is it time to buy that daft Italian tyre?

Risk of it suddenly deciding to run too great, even if booted. Cease use and replace. If you're unable to get a replacement delivered I still have a wee store of half-used tyres in the shed, originally being kept in case if zombie apocalypse but equally applicable for other ages of scarcity.

@wingpig, lucky I picked that gatorskin up at Decathlon today then. Are you saying out to the garage now? Can it wait til after tomorrow’s cycle?

What if it blows out overnight and wakes you up? Vertical tear will be getting lightly squidged and relaxed with every revolution. Remember what happened to airlock no. 1 in the book of The Martian.

Straightforward change. The torn tyre not quite worn so have not yet binned it, but did not mind changing as into the end game for it for sure, the wee wear indicator holes were still visible but quite rubbed down. The sidewall tear maybe 5mm.

Used the wee heater Scottish hydro gave us when they broke our boiler to slightly warm the gator for the last little chord.

    Inflate deflate all fine.

Cleaned the bike a little. Not so as IWRATS could eat his dinner off it but took advantage of getting In When wheel off. Bit of salt around maybe just a soupcon.

The rear brakes do not have much rubber left and the wheel is a little bit concave. So it goes. The rear cassette fine.

It’ll end in tears, great track on. The first 4AD compilation album.

Vertical tyre wall. Tear. Rip Torn.

    Pate - high forehead?

    Not Foie gras
