    All very laudable.

However this lovely cuddly "vision" doesn't seem to tally with the (unmentioned above) competing agendas, including::

    - Festival city
    - Global tourism destination
    - City that "listens" to (car owning, suburban) residents
    - City that approves large housing/retail developments in suburban/semi-rural/peripheral areas of the city

The chief exec was referring to this vision last week so still pertinent. But how the circle is squared is as @crowriver the thing.

    “the thing”

Plus the unfortunate fact of the intervention of Covid.

Perhaps CEC needs to revisit as a matter of urgency.

Don’t suppose city plan includes the phrase “build back better”...

If only the Party running the country was interested in what its colleagues were trying to do at local level...

And/or trusted people to make more decisions locally - and the money to carry them out...

How sweet, so many bicycles in the future of Edinburgh!

working with citizens and communities to create and maintain safer walking and cycling routes which make on-foot, or by bike, the easiest choice for getting around the city

A new framework which integrates planning and performance

This new framework will provide a clear link between our business plan, key strategies, annual service plans and the underlying performance framework including benchmarking. The framework will be underpinned by a cycle of ‘plan, do, check and review and act’ at all levels of service and will drive a culture of continuous improvement.

**Case Update – 12/01/2024** The examination of the proposed plan continues. The further information requests on housing and infrastructure, which were issued following the hearing in September, have now concluded. The report is not likely to be published before the end of February 2024.
