What TBC said.
I also wouldn't call a £200 Rapha Jacket a must have "accessory". Perhaps a fashion statement.

yup. reflective/hiviz vest is an 'accessory', cheap and useful. cycling jacket NOT. ditto most of the other stuff on the list.

No mudguards either. Since hardly any bike is ever sold with any they are a very useful accessory. Just saw a similar list in a bike mag that looked similarly un-useful.

Best for oil-free trousers... I think I'll stick with my velcro reflective ankle bands that stay the same tightness until I take them off.
Best for protection...Best for visibility... Cycle training with an accredited instructor, plus a £40 dome if you still want one. £115? Come on.
Best for shower protection... Something with Goretex, maybe? There's nothing worse than your jacket letting the rain in, and in, and in.
My own super-opinionated top 10 cycling accessories:
- SKS mudguards
- Smart/Cateye LED rear lights
- Cateye EL135 front light
- Nimrod reflective leg bands
- Carradice or Ortlieb panniers
- Finish Line Teflon Plus dry lube
- Gore Bikewear XCR jacket
- Altura Nightvision gloves
- Endura Multi tights
- Endura MT500 shorts
