    hive-mind wisdom required.

    Have a 3.5m x 6.5m car space at new pad. Bike parking is lacking, there is an area but doesn’t fill me with much confidence. Thinking of getting something built bespoke to house bikes. First thought was to find someone who can make a cage out of sheets of something like 2”/50mm sq sheeting. Can stick a ground anchor or two inside no problem.

    I do still need to get a car in there, so really have 2ish m length-ways and up to 3m wide.

    Any better / more sensible ideas ?

    Are the bricks sound, or friable? Looks like perhaps a damp has been creeping through at stair-tread level from the other side. If someone wanted to steal things they see through the window, does the window admit either people or allow the exit of people and bicycles? How many of your bikes cannot be lifted up to store/secure by the people needing to store/secure them? What is the height and construction of the ceiling?

    Could you put a shed in? Probably a lot cheaper than getting something custom made.

    Could you chain your bike(s) to the column using a heavy duty motorcycle chain? Alternatively, use a serious ground anchor such as the Almax Defiant. As for chains, Almax and Pragmasis are meant to be good - although I haven't used them myself. Not the sort of chains you would want ride with, they are seriously heavy.

    Alternatively, you could buy a metal bike shed. I have an Asgard Annexe, which is pretty robust - although it looks like the price has went up quite a bit recently.

    @Winpig - so many questions.
    Bricks are pretty ok, floor is newish poured, so ground anchors are viable. Windows are pretty reasonable, although if they can get through those and remove enough of them to get a bike out, then they're probably tooled-up/determined enough to defeat any lock I have. Ceiling is older, poured I think.

    Looking at Asgard site now.
