I knew it was coming as. My legs felt too good on way to Tarbrax. So on the way back after cresting Auchinoon Brae I did not experience the Quickening. That only comes with a south westerly really.

@gembo it surely was. Also rather chilly.
I had a bus behind me for a while through Livi and I was cycling as fast as i could but it wasn't very fast at all.
Very annoying when I don't get any tail wind on the way in and a headwind on the way home.
@ bill I blame the government,for double head winds. Something should be done.

The gates still open at Craigengar as farmers are cutting grass for silage.
This lets you get up for a nosey to the fancy Craigengar Lodge. Nice wee road.
Ventured to Apple Pie today. First time for a while and nice to sit out with the others.
Met Colin (partner of Sonja - they did LEL 2011 on tandem). He spotted me of course and reminded me I had sold her a reclined trike once.
Anyway... I let him head off on his Van Nicholas bike and I followed on. He stopped for me at Lang Whang and I was allowed to head off on 'the quickening - he tailed, drafting by sitting low on bar to reduce drag. Could see in rear view.
Peeled off at Gillespie's X roads.
Impromptu social ride / strava bike racing.
I had a whole apple pie on board in tail box.
New Lanark bike lanes a nice launch route west.
