    Hi folks,

Has anyone ridden the canal path recently? I have a family friend who is planning on cycling from Edinburgh to Glasgow via the canal cycle path.
A couple of years ago I rode out to the Int Climbing centre and the path was very overgrown.

    Thanks in advance.

Beyond the climbing centre bit there is no real vegetation until Possil.

Yeah - did this a couple of months ago. The path is tarmac all the way and pretty easy riding. It was a bit overgrown in places, seem to remember the worst parts were near Polmont, but all still passable. The path on the Forth and Clyde canal is wider than on the Union Canal and all nice and clear.

Scottish Canals have trimmed back undergrowth in Edinburgh fairly recently, not sure about further out of town though.

I cycled to Broxburn a few weeks back and it is very overgrown in bits. I must admit it has put me off cycling it as a result. Passable though.
