Cyclists taking part in the event are being asked to meet at 1.30pm on the Meadows, where the parade will begin. While there’s no ban on traditional lycra cycling gear, riders will be expected to wear a helmet.

Really??
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Be quite a few on display I bet. I'll get me coat...
Looks very civilized!

Presumably the organisers and/or powers that be have forgotten the precise reason the WNBR was created.
And presumably the ENBR will adhere to the law of Outraging Public Decency and thus require naked people to be not actually naked.
I don't think I'll be able to ride a Just Eat bike again!
Daughter and I were in Meadows yesterday and saw the start of this. At the time we did not realise what it was, just some cyclists gathered around a fluttering banner. When one of them started getting undressed we assumed it was a festival type performance. Penny only dropped when I got home.
Is there a point to this, or is it just an excuse for blokes to get their kit off and render communal bikes disgustingly un-shareable?
AFAIR women have also participated in past rides, as evidenced in chdot's photo upthread. Maybe a bit too bracing yesterday for some?
