Was abused violently this morning from a BMW for cycling on the road. I think they wanted me on the pavement which on my return from East Linton did appear to have been Covid widened. I invited him to go and get his drugs and calm down, we went qucklly onto John Muir Path which was not ideal. The cinder track from Longniddry to Haddingron was passable on road bike.

All other cars driven well all day until i made it to Colinton and was given a close pass by a huge white SUV driver. He was then stuck at Gillespie lights so I swerved in towards him for a laugh.

Did you spot anyone at all obeying the speed limits? I spy points in it.

Was that the new bit between Prestonpans and Cockensze / Port Seton?
Wasn't really marked out last time I went that way.

Can you hear the people sing?
Singing the songs of angry men..

Had a few odd episodes on that road. One was a guy going apoplectic at me fir overtaking another cyclist without signalling even though he was about 1/4 mile behind me when I performed the manoeuvre and didn’t actually catch up till about 30 secs after as we entered Cockenzie. Note I was doing about 25mph thanks to the prevailing westerly.

Another more recent one was a Ned on the cycle path asking me for a race on his escorted. Those things can shift! Again, thankful for the prevailing westerly or it might have been embarrassing for me (I did point out that I thought they were meant to be restricted to 15mph!)

Yes I think I’ve mentioned both of these incidents on here come to think of it! Any excuse to squeeze in a bi of musical theatre ;)

The number of SUVs out that way is upsetting. We had an incident at the roundabout at the start of that road. Close pass where my mate was almost knocked off his bike. My pal took matters into his own hands and kicked the guys back bumper. I don't think it was an even response to being almost killed but I did really enjoy the anger on the driver's face.

Amazing how observant that driver was. Contrast with others that hate 'pavement cyclists' but think pavement parking is ok.
    You can't win!

If they’re within kicking distance they’re too close so absolved of any guilt for me
