CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Could do if early enough. Though will still be foggy
Is this going ahead?
I can be there for either 8-30 or 9-00 depending on child wrangling duties...
I fancy this. Will be risking death by rockfall along the Innocent Path and aiming to be there for about 8.30
Should be there at 830
Heading off in ten, wrap up warm
Think I might be there for the first time ever.
8:30
Hope to get an update on the deadly innocent path, so hope you make it through @Macairney
sorry - forgot!
Too many people to name but an excellent turnout in a great place for a coffee - nice to see everyone
(click on pic for larger version of gembo and pals)
A big turnout today. Faces old and new. Not too cold either.
Great turnout! I couldn't make it today, the school run...
That was some turnout. I'm just back from riding round Midlothian (plan was to head towards Peebles/Innerleithen but my mobile ran out of juice so decided not to risk it for a biscuit and turned round at Penicuik). On the plus side I got to discover some new rural tracks round the Moorfoots.
Did we have any takers for the Midnight Sun?
Aside from Algo taking the photo and me isn the yellow specs we have
Mccairney, unhurt, iratesheep, neddie, Steve, Tom (outsider) Urchaidh, chrisfl, Hankchief, morningsider and Dave Laidback.
A baker’s dozen
The flapjacks are still on The Chief’s bunker
Ears still ringing from the noise of mccairney's freehub as we left along Gilmore Place. Absolutely a'pawling racket.
Haha it ain’t quiet. It also gives the game away when I’m not pulling my weight in the chain gang. Hunt bike wheels just so you know what wheel brand to avoid if you want a quiet life.
@mcairney - all the best freehubs are noisey (!)
I have a Hope one to allow 12 speed. Never have to use a bell so a weight saving.
Good to know. I think my commuting lump has Hope hubs and they’re quieter than a ninja creeping up on a butterfly
Think it might be that time again. Unrelated to CCE I was planning on trying my commute in tomorrow and PY is en route and !PY is a minor detour away if anyone’s around (ultra short notice I realise)
I will likely pass PY at 8.30. could stop.
I was a bit early. Didn’t see anyone, except a couple of whippety road bike dudes. I did ask - since they were at our usual outdoor table. But they just looked confused.
Give me a shout and I’ll pop back.
I’m here now waiting on my flat white
Have you left?
(That was embarrassing; blokes still there)
Brief unencounter…
Yeah sorry, hung around till just before 9am.
Young lads with road bikes were still there when I left. Noticed one of them had a rather nice looking Canyon
