Just wondering if the yellow "No cycling on footway" signs on Seaview Terrace have some actual legal force or if they're just there to give people extra incentive to shout at you for doing it?

I don't mind hopping off and walking once you hit the narrow section with houses at Eastfield, but it seems complete lunacy not to take advantage of the Home Office guidance about pavement riding for the rest of that stretch between the prom and the painted lanes on Edinburgh Road(though TBH I'd be tempted to use the pavement there too given how many <rule 2> park in them).

I thought those had been taken down.

Seaview Terrace is a core path - it's one of the few places where cycling (responsibly) on the footway is legal.

Thanks, I'll ask the council's access officer what the deal is.
