Cracking Paris Roubaix race this year. Just watching the highlights. These guys are tough as nails! The riders are so caked in mud, they reminded me of the Clay People from the old 1930s Flash Gordon serial starring Buster Crabbe.

Women's race was also entertaining but despite the mud they stayed clean.

Wet wipes?
The men have a sweepstake on who can stay dirtiest?

I think it was actually raining more in the men's race than in the women's race. So there was more mud coming up from the tyres of the bike in front (they were much muddier on their fronts than backs).
(This is way some people grumble about other cyclists not having mudguards, or good enough mudguards, because it is unpleasant to cycle behind them in the wet.)

Had my winter bike with mudguards om Saturday out to Humbie hub but back to summer on Sunday to Carnwath
Tricky changeable season at the moment.
No one bothers with mudguards at Paris Roubaix

Those were two awesome races. Kudos to Lizzie Deignan who rode without gloves- her hands were in a real state afterwards. She was probably one of the cleanest as she didn't follow anyone's wheels for all of the pave.
The only downside is the number of riders who had major injures- Annemiek Van Vleuten has a serious injury - at 38 how many more of these can she come back from? Van Dijk and Niewiedoma are both out of future races.

@fimm, "some people grumble about other cyclists not having mudguards".
That'll be me.
Didn't catch the women's race, will see if they're repeating highlights on Eurosport...
