Looks like a nice route. It's not flat though, If you found another 60m of hills it would be hitting AAA teritory.

Never thought I'd see a discussion of saddles by @nobrakes !
Out on my M5 today - couldn't imagine doing extended hours on a head down bike now. Know at least 1% of cyclists agree! :-)

@LaidBack yes I am probably one of a very small minority out of itself a small minority of cyclists on recumbents who have significant comfort issues on the recumbent. I never thought I'd be back on standard bikes either. But here we are :)

I am still sad that the m5 has gone into new ownership, but I've always felt life is too short to hang onto stuff if it's not being used. And it's always exciting getting another bike!

@acsimpson I had to look up AAA to see what it was. Definitely something applicable to riding around here!

“And it's always exciting getting another bike!“

    Ah yes N+1.

“but I've always felt life is too short to hang onto stuff if it's not being used“

    Ah yes, the difficult bit.

I once ‘decided’ to get rid of any bike I hadn’t ridden in previous 12 months.

    Didn’t happen…

Generally speaking my bikes are all different and ‘optimum’ for different purposes, but…

Straight, drops, fat tyres and skinny, mudguards/not, punctures/not, mmm.

I swap bits about to make ‘different’ bikes.

In addition I have various bikes intended to be the ‘next one’ for various children - they keep growing… (some already have more than one!)

    ‘Need’ to rationalise…

    Big garage @chdot!

I did get rid of a bike recently - for Ukrainian refugees. But then I had a new mtb, albeit with 29ers which I still haven't got used to.

Under probation at the moment is a Dahon Curve folder, which I haven't had much use of, largely due to COVID-19 reducing the in-person off-site meetings. I will give it a bit more time though.

    “Big garage“

    Yes/no

There’s no car to put in it…

Sure was a nice day to be out all day on the bike.

Not sure if I spotted any CCEers but there were 2 suspiciously audax-ish groups going the other way in which waves were exchanged, one not far from Tibbie Shiels and another further south, so possibly crossed paths with one or more of you.

Hope you enjoyed the 200 @nobrakes.

I had a good run as well. Bit chilly by Stow at 0730 though! There was also an early doors triathlon in Gala, then another cycle event or triathlon complete with signs in the sticks

I hope this one will help recover my hill climbing legs for the next audax, which is very hilly. Turns out cycle touring in the Netherlands is not great for fostering grimpeurs
