Quiet Route 61 is a signposted route from Roslin to Niddrie. It's the central-ish north-south blue line here. I think everyone who has ever tried to follow it has gotten lost at least once.

The council are about to extend the signage to Portobello, and are reviewing the existing signs at the same time. So there's an opportunity to try and make it slightly easier to follow.

So where did you get lost on QR61, and would a better placed sign have prevented it?

I got through Niddrie Marischal Road successfully once, albeit at walking pace and only after trying to go through the park and not taking what looked like far too overgrown a path for a bicycle. A few times I've come up against some shifting, indecisive Heras fencing at various points in the being-redeveloped bit where they've not bothered to maintain a pedestrian or cycle route.

I was lost on it once trying to find Castlebrae High School

which is odd as I know where the school is

Indeed two fridays ago I ended up at the same place but did not go on it

Which was odd as I know where the new housing goes at the railway end

So why I overshot then ended up round the back so I could see the hospital. I dont know. was heavy rain.

Sign behind Castlebrae saying Roslin --> would be nice

assuming i am even referring to the right route
