    Saw tweet from dave:

"Delusional SWEM may try to persuade you that cyclists feel unsafe because safe on-road cycle lanes somehow hem them in. Meanwhile, cyclists on isolated off-road routes are wrestling for serrated knives while having their face bitten off by madmen."

    Thought "that dave. exaggerating again"

    NOT.

Not quite as dramatic ,but was set upon by two hoodies on electric motor bikes just past Dalkeith school campus on the cycle path last Monday lunchtime
Refused to let me through and then when I mentioned they shouldn’t be on a cycle path they came up behind me and kept hitting my rear wheel with their front wheel whilst the other came along side and tried to push me off into the bushes
Sadly common to encounter Midlothian morons on that path - usually the abuse and missiles are from the students at the Campus. I try to check beforehand as to when the varmin are safely locked up in their classrooms before venturing into that danger zone
For some reason a near horizontal OAP on a recumbent is like a red flag to a bull to these young scholars
Gone are the days when any self respecting Victorian touring cyclist would pack his revolver along with his puncture repair kit in case of meeting brigands and thuggees ,
But I was rather wishing I had had one with me if only with which to puncture their tyres
