Local Facebook groups have been full of reports of assaults/attempted assaults recently. At least one in the park. Several on coffin lane. Seems to be the same attacker . He is described as in 20s, red facial hair, beanie hat and often green gilet.
Most but not all victims seem to be female. Police are aware.
Thought I should flag for those who pass through the area on foot.
Apparently this person was picked up by the police last night. don't know anything further, but the source seems reliable.
A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of assaults in Edinburgh.
The man has been charged with six assaults and other offences in the Harrison Park, Bruntfield Links and Fountainbridge areas between Sunday, 27 February and Thursday, 24 March, 2022.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 28 March.
Chief Inspector Mark Hamilton of Wester Hailes Police Station said: “We are grateful for the assistance and support provided by the local community to this investigation.
“Further enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 1107 of 24 March, 2022.”
