I see the Transport Minister has just cut the ribbon on a new 500m long dual carriageway in Aberdeen.
Total cost £49.5m!
That is £9,900,000 per hundred metres! £99 per millimetre!
There is also the small matter, conveniently ignored in the Transport Scotland press release but reported by the BBC, that:
Hundreds of council flats in the Logie area were demolished to make way for the new road.
Think of all that effort expended by cycle campaigners on road space reallocation, asking for a few parking spaces to be moved. Yet the Scottish Government is happy to literally demolish hundreds of homes to shave a few minutes from peak time commuter trips by car.
By their actions shall you know them.
