Any interest in a PY this Friday (July 1st*)?

Weather looks changeable so would suggest actual PY/Sodeberg on Middle Meadow Walk as a venue. This will also avoid any temptation for me to repeat last month's regrettable last minute change of venue confusion.

*So, officially, PY should have been last Friday as that was the last Friday of the month.

See you in a bit? I’d prefer to sit outside, if possible.

thanks @urchaidh for sorting the issue with my swytch configuration <duh>

@roibeard it occurs to me that the word we were looking for was 'sealioning '?

Good to catch up with everyone! I managed to just about roll home (I reckon I had about 20psi to spare!) and bike is now booked into Ace.

RE: Sea-lioning that's a new one on me but it appears the origin is this web-comic http://wondermark.com/1k62/

here's a question - why I can't I access the App Store (Eurosport player needs installed!) when the vpn's on?

Probably more of an educated guess as the last time I did Windows IT Support XP was a thing but it's either that the App Store expects you to be going in via Direct Access (which is a weird IPv6-based pseudo-VPN/tunnel thing) or that the team that manages the App Store service has restricted access from VPN traffic for security purposes.

thanks mcairney its an iPad, but now working after I turned vpn on and off. <shrug>

more random it questions -- I use keychain access secure notes on my MacBook Pro. can I access them via my phone or iPad? not the passwords, but the secure notes?

    thanks all

It's definitely do-able to share notes via iCloud (just need to make sure they're save in the iCloud folder not the local folder). I use Notes too but the other way round i.e. so my laptop can see notes created on my iPhone

thanks @mcairney can I be a pain and double check that this is the 'keychain access secure notes' not the 'notes' app?

mine are definitely in the iCloud folder within the notes (past experience from changing machines). but am not having any luck accessing them except on the laptop.

will persevere! [although google seems to confirm that the notes can't be accessed on iOS devices)

(and stop hijacking CCE to ask support question!)

Yep I'm definitely thinking Notes App rather than Keychain. Checking my laptop config I've got System Preferences -> Apple ID -> iCloud and Keychain ticked (I think that's all you need to do?) Most of my passwords are stored in Lastpass rather than in Apple's Keychain/Passwords app though.

the passwords travel across, but not the notes. oh well.

I like the secure notes for keeping track of stuff like other peoples passwords (kids, parents) that I only very rarely need, but which I want to keep extra secure

    thanks!
