With Andrew Jarvis ('the bus') moving to take overall control of Firstbus in Scotland we've a new MD in Glasgow, and a new one in East, although as yet she's not got a profile(?)

On my agenda (possibly with some funding for which I've made a bid?) I'd like to restore the facility I used to get to Callander every week to work on cycle routes, and put my bike on the bus, as was the case for almost all SMT operations in Rural Scotland - up to 4 bikes in the rear locker on every 49-seat Y or T type single decker per clause 7(d) of the official CoC - also used on 62 or 95 to Galashiels or Peebles and the coast route to North Berwick

I'd want to start with a small pilot on 10,11,59(359) workings from Stirling & Balfron, as the driver (& bus) pool is smaller , but not quite as small & personal service as Alan & Peter when the 59 had 3 buses kept overnight in Callander!

    Time to lobby?

    Ooh, much excite.

Me and partner are often in Callander and make frequent use of the 59 when the weather is too horrid to make the cycle ride from Bridge of Allan station appealing. At the moment, if we do that, we can't take the full-size bikes (folders are OK).

We also make use of the C60 to Killin (with folders, they can't physically take a full size bike) and the 160 (positioning movement for the S160 shopper service) for more prolonged adventuring. Again with folders, though as that service is usually empty I suspect the driver might be agreeable to taking full-size bikes.

Should you need letters from Supportive Members of the Public(TM) do drop me a PM...
