    ITV4

    UK TV schedule

STAGE ONE | Sunday 4 September

    Aberdeen > Glenshee Ski Centre

    Live 10:45am – 4pm | Highlights 8pm

    NOTE

I copied details from official website

They turned out to be not the same as the Freeview version of ITV4.

Is there another way to watch??

    Tuesday apparently at 8

    Thanks @chdot.
I was watching Stage 1 yesterday and enjoyed seeing them suffer in rain and wind and up Glenshee ski centre.

is it hillier going north, rather than south? I remember driving up to Glenshee and the family discussing how much fun it would be to have a cycle race come through there.

I did enjoy the race, but it was a shame not to get more helicopter footage.

Thought it was strange how much they talked about the wind, but it wasn’t so visible.

Partly because there weren’t too many trees to wave and also because the peloton was more block than echelon.

    Good bit of racing though.

Anyone heading up Redstone Rig to see the riders this afternoon?

@SRD the climb to Glenshee is much steeper going south to north, than going north to south (the ToB went N - S, coming from Braemar).

Mr fimm is heading up to Redstone Rigg.

The winner of Stage 1, Corbin Strong, is from Invercargill, which Mr Bill pointed out was described as <rule 2>-end of world by the the Rolling Stones.

Interestingly in Invercargill (no, there is no river Cargill there) many streets in the city are named after rivers in Scotland. These include the main streets Dee and Tay, as well as those named after the Tweed, Forth, Tyne, Esk, Don, Ness, Yarrow, Spey, Eye and Ythan rivers, amongst others.
    There is even Ettrick St.

    Kiwi guy came third.
Great bit of racing up from Whitadder and round turn back to Longfarmacus and Duns. Lots of Edinburgh crowd there maybe CCErs?
Edge of the road looking nice and gravely. Peleton had corked road and Italian guy broke away (insert name here).
Shame though as he got swept up on final climb.
@arellcat - yes wondered why I didn't go and night have if in a possé ? Had list of stuff in morning though.

I was watching the Stage 2 highlight last night. Fun to see two Portovelo and one Fiestclub Balerno jerseys amongst the spectators. I was a little surprised they don't cover the cattle grids with something.
It was also funny to see the peloton on the descent to Duns stuck on the single track road with the gravel on either side so no room for anyone from the back to get ahead.

Mr fimm missed seeing the race live, due to a combination of a slow café stop, a navigational misadventure and a puncture. He had a nice ride out all the same!

The Fietsclub Balerno supporter managed to find a prime spot right at the final summit in front of the camera.

Yes the camera filmed him filming the riders.

    Nice four seconds of fame

Nice too he was wearing the jersey he designed.

I cannot say what the drunk Rangers supporter described that design as looking like one middday as we cycled through Dalkeith and he staggered to his bus to the match. Due to the no swearing rule.

Final 3 stages cancelled out of respect.

Yeah but when you go to Quest and ITV 4 it is The Sweeney or Salvage Hunters or Fishing that is on instead of Vuelta. What has happened?

Good grief. Now Eurosport has cancelled ‘The Breakaway’ as a sign of respect. This is insane.

They cancelled the post race show yesterday and today we’re dressed in black. Odd.

That might explain why no Orla on Friday either. One small crumb will be the stylish black outfits. Are the scruffy boys Dan and the one who accused Remco of faking a puncture making an effort or is it just black tee shirt with GCN logo?

black t shirts I think, no logo. and orla had white stilettos
