Crewe Road North close next week for three weeks to allow for “urgent” repairs, it has been announced.

The busy route will be closed from Monday just north of Crewe Toll roundabout to allow Scottish Water to carry out repairs on a collapsed 375mm sewer pipe.

Working at Crewe Road N, it would be great if this closure was permanent. It’s now dead easy to turn out of site onto the NEPN and no reason why it couldn’t be permanently closed or bus only given parallel West Granton Access serves the same function. One less “arm” feeding Crewe Toll Rbt would be welcome too. Will miss these roadworks when they’re gone!

Lane closures on the north side of Crewe Toll from today for 7-10 days as part of the ongoing sewer repairs.

Contractors need to block off the sewer via a manhole on the roundabout to allow further investigative works.

    Crewe Road North remains closed.
