Bit of an odd request but does anyone know which if any of the hardware stores in Edinburgh will do M6 socket cap(ie allen key machine screws) singles? I'm doing some modifications to my bike mirror and I need a longer one, but I resent having to buy a pack of fifty of the sodding things I have no other use for if I don't have to and since I'm out and about tomorrow anyway I might as well avoid waiting for ebay.

I usually go to eBay for small quantities like that. Doesn't necessarily work out cheaper than screwfix or whatever but at least you don't end up 49 screws that you have no use for.
What length of M6 screw are you after? I might have something that would do the job in the bargain bucket of stainless allen screws I bought more than 20 years ago...

Why not just buy the 50 screws, then take the remaining ones to the Bike Station?
