Spotted Gembo but not the others unfortunately.
Really enjoyed the talks. "Sparkles" is one of the guys who helped me out a lot when I first started group riding and Kris is a good guy. Glad I stuck around for the PBP talk too, especially the stories about the hallucinations and the attempted proposal. Don't think I'll sign up for either event myself though!Posted 9 months ago # -
Hats off to all four participants. And five including @Bill and six with @aidan up from Durham who did PbP on a tricycle. Quite canny. Tactic as odd bikes like tandems, trikes and recumbents are allowed off first and if they can keep ahead of the bulge then they don’t have the same hassles as @Matt described going through controls in hold ups he hadn’t figured in to his finish time and probably added to his withdrawn proposal and then his wife to be beating him despite him leaving to finish under cut off when she was less bothered. This was the biggest laugh and cheer of the night though the crowd had thinned a little as it got later. Doing PbP on a fixie I thought a little mad but he changed my mind as terrain more undulating than big climbs. Still wouldn’t do it even if I could, even on a so called normal bike.

Thanks everyone for coming to Boketrax on Friday! @gembo @Hankchief @edinburgh87 @fimm @MrFimm @sheeptoucher @mcairney !
I hear Aidan also went to @LaidBack for a chat on his way which is also nice!I really enjoyed the stories by the speakers. Super interesting and fun!
They are planning to have more such events with speakers from various disciplines.
Sparkles and Kris have this great energy between them it made for a great chat.
The withdrawn marriage proposal and Gabi overtaking Matt while he fell asleep in a field and ultimately finishing ahead of him was definitely my favourite bit!
We may be doing this again in Gifford in springtime.

@bill - well done on the Biketrax Audax revelations!

Yes Aidan dropped round to LB as thought I would be going but was double booked.
He mentioned he was planning an overnight trip to a CTC hut in Borders. Need to get in training.
Was also a talk on the bicycles of Studio Ghibli at Roxy. Didn't make that either.Posted 9 months ago # -
