I just spent another whole day of my life struggling to get a tyre to seat properly and evenly on the rim using all the usual tricks- fairy liquid, cable ties around the bulging portion , grabbing and pulling the tyre with the special Park tool , inflating it to dangerously high pressures , and the usual incantation of expletives- all to no avail ! I was about to surrender and take it to the Bike Works, when it occurred to me that inflating the tyre to a very low pressure ( around 15 psi) , putting it back on the bike and riding around for a few minutes ,might seat it and it did !
Perhaps this trick is well known - I certainly didn’t know it- but I thought it might be useful to someone in a similar predicament who was similarly ignorant of it
