My Old Garmin Edge cycle computer is on the 'edge' of giving up the ghost.
I now mostly use a fancy garmin watch, mianly for mapping whilst hiking but I also use it for recording activities including cycling (it does a better job than the old cycle computer), and tbh it's bit of a pain to start the computer and watch and then delete the cyle computer activity when all I use that for is as a speedometer.

So, I need a cheap cycle computer that is wireless, doesn't need cables or other bits attached (except handlebar bracket) to the bike (so it can be used on multiple bikes) that will tell me my speed - don't need it to tell me anything else.

Any recomendations for such a thing, I presume they still exist?

    Thanks in advance. :)

Edit: Also don't want it to connect to any apps, or need syncing or anything. Just switch on, tell me speed, switch off.

Just realised, probably can't get one to work on multiple bikes given different wheel sizes. That would be probably fine, I only really care what my speed is on my commute.

Actually, does anyone have one of these?

Looks like it ticks my boxes, and would work on multiple bikes.

If you want something you can just move from one handlebar to the other, it will have terrible battery life and I might suggest just fitting each bike with an old school computer with wired speed sensor.

Or, you can presumably just see the speed on your watch?

Actually, I'm wondering if just removing the Garmin cycle computer from my Garmin account will stop it syncing (but still working).

Will try that first before spending cash...

If it needs to be synced you could create a dummy account.

I have a rubber collar that clips on to the bars of either of my bikes, on to which my Garmin watch attaches just like strapping it on to my wrist. I normally have the watch display scrolling between different data screens but if you want a "dashboard" that you can glance at quickly at any time then you can set it up to display a single data screen with just e.g. speed, heart rate and cadence. I think the Garmin watches all have a more or less similar UI so I'd expect yours could be set up in a similar way. That said, a watch face is a bit small compared to devices such as the Edge so that solution might not work so well for you.

All of my bikes have their own simple bike computer. Here's an old photo but it's still relevant:

I've got that Sigma Sport one on my 1995 VFR. It was one of the few bicycle computers that could register normal (i.e. not illegal) motorcycle speeds. Taking its signal from a sensor on the front wheel, and carefully calibrated, it's a lot more accurate than the stock speedo.
