Was 'spotted' today out on the new Helios, not by someone who wanted to know where I got it, but by someone who already has one! Maybe we should have a club or group rides?

Thought others might also find this article/review about two blokes riding a Helios on Islay with (inter alia) Graham Obree interesting.

Thanks for the link SRD, we used to go to Islay twice a year on holidays untuil I was about 15 or 16 and haven't been back in a few years. I'm going there on the bike this spring as part of my "11 (and counting) malts" touring route.

Regarding Obree's fluorescent pink bike (picture, page 3), Cycling Weekly went for a ride around Ayrshire with him and reviewed it. Custom built time-trial-track-road hybrid thing with a unique riding position incorporting super-narrow bars that probably only Obree could ever think up and his usual gigantic chainrings.

Nice to meet you! We'll have to make a plan - how does Harrison Park to Cramond sound?

Gulp, that sounds quite ambitious SRD! Are you in Harrison Park then? Maybe a trip along the canal while I'm still getting to grips with it.

K'nik - dare you to illustrate that!

@LJB - we did a nice run last summer from HP to Spylaw which is fun.

    The Polwarth Massive in effect!!!

I saw a guy on some kind of helois style cargo bike affair going past my house while I was in the drive building a bike out of spare junk I had lying around for my 12 year old nephew to ride...( yes I had enough old bits to make an actual drop handlebar 5 speed with a 26" front wheel and a 27" back wheel)..It was like a polwarth version of american chopper but without the facial hair........anyway thought he may have been something to do with SRD as he was heading in the direction of her house....not that I'm a curtain twitcher or anything .......

According to Cycle streets the HP - Cramond ride is about 40 minutes (search 472186) with a fair bit of it off-road.
