Apologies for a very OT question, but have any of you had good experiences with joiners, builders and the like?
We're still shopping around for a contractor to do our big renovations project, and would be grateful for recommendations. Thanks.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

No need to apologise, CCEers like finding solutions for other CCEers.
(And vicariously observing the process/progress…)
But builders…
And if they will do jobs in Glasgow and do them well, I'm interested too. Asking for a friend.
We were fortunate to find a central heating contractor who understood our desire for a phased approach to installing the boiler, rads etc (in sync with the other stuff we needed to have done). We went with the firm that had actually read the project spec I wrote up.
But the building quotes we've been getting seem more focused on economies of scale (do all the project elements concurrently) complicating our efforts to make sense of what they actually propose to do for each. It's closer to a one-size-fits-all, 'this is how we do things'. approach.
