Yesterday I had a chance to use the Inner Forth Bike Bus. We took it from SQ/Port Edgar to Alloa and cycled back along the north side of the Forth. We visited Clackmannan Tower (so cool), lunched at Marco's cafe with the full Scottish Breakfast for £9.95, stopped in Culross for coffee and finished with ice cream in SQ. Oh, we cycled between those places. On paths and gravel.

It's a free bus that runs every Sunday. Two buses a day. And there is clockwise and anticlockwise loop. Runs until 26th of October. All sorts of bikes welcome (tandems and modified bikes included).

Worth checking it out to explore the Forth a bit further afield.

Thanks for the reminder about it.

I heard it was struggling a bit to be viable. So would be good if folks made use of it

@neddie yes, not many people using it /know about it yet. We were with Markus getting some promo material for this great initiative.

I actually thought about you and your kids that it may appeal and give some more exploring possibilities!

@bill I saw elsewhere ypu were on the lollies. I had assumed you would have cycled 500 miles for this but turns out you took the bus. Clacks twice in a week. Crazy.

@gembo it's funny because I was in Alloa on Wednesday (cycling there and back) and I was back home waaaaaaay earlier than just cycling one way yesterday! But we did gravel tracks yesterday and stopped for food, raspberries and photos.

@bill yes even following the Sustrans round the forth route takes you around and about and down to the salt pans and back up again and back down again. The time I did that it took so fkn long we took the train back from Stirling but in a joyous moment the wee guy who wanted to hitch hike to Caracas at the end of Gregory’s Girl was on the platform with us (as a middle aged man) the only improvement would have been Ice Lollies
