7-7-7 delayed by about a year

Cllr Booth asked about this at TEC June meeting. One issue has been, given the length of the route, waiting for a bunch of existing TRO/TTRO/ETRO orders to run their course, before they can ETRO the full 44 route. The last order they’re waiting for concludes in August; then advertise order from fhen, appoint contractor, work to implement in Feb 2026.
No idea if this explains the fact the original go-ahead was 2022 or if there was also a bit of fuddle duddling along the way.

Think it was EdinBUG I picked up the 2022 timeline from - you can watch Cllr Booth’s question and the response about delays at 35m into the webcast at https://edinburgh.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/996034

Gareth Barwell, the council's executive director of place, said he shared the frustration felt at the delay and added the council would have to look for a "Plan B" if the external funding did not materialise.
Committee convener Stephen Jenkinson said: "I'm disappointed it has taken so long to get to this point and we haven't managed to make as much progress as I'd like. I want to see fi there are any ways in which we can speed this up."

EdinBUG pointed out in the intervening years there have been three developments along the route that could have had Section 75 contributions mandated for this project, but the council didn’t think to require it.
