Can anyone provide a summary of where we are with the Travelling Safely ETROs? Most of them seem to have disappeared from the council's website!

    From what I can tell:

    - The City Centre one was approved to be made permanent

    - The East one is about to run out at the end of Sept 2025 and the TRO subcommittee still have to approve it as permanent before then

    - The Silverknowes one is on the council's map-based TRO system and is open for responses until 10th Feb 2026

    - The Greenbank to Meadows ones were rewritten to represent what is currently on the ground, and not for comment. Detailed drawings were produced for the latest scheme (to reintroduce rat-running to Braid Ave), but no ETROs have appeared!?

What about the North, West, South, Braid Rd, and Comiston Rd ones?

The consultations on the South ones (including separate orders for Braid Road, Comiston Road and Meadows-Greenbank) closed in June (Spokes response: http://www.spokes.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/2506-15-_SpokesSouthETRO-21-29A-ETRO-21-29DComments.pdf). I've not seen anything about them since then, but I've not been paying as much attention as I used to.

"Travelling Safely - West Schemes" was run in 2024 I haven't seen and can't find any later reference to it on the council site. It includes some significant items such as Slatford, Meadowfield and Queensferry Roads.

This might not be the correct sub, but does anyone know whats happening with Silverknowes Road North?
The temporary cones separating the cycle lane have gone, (almost came a cropper heading down the other day only to meet a bus), so used the northbound lane this morning and it has more craters than the moon.
I'm assuming they are going to re-surface the whole lot when the cycle lane goes in. The question is when?

From the Council's Travelling Safely page:

    Silverknowes Road North
Where the Council has drawn up plans to re-open the road to general traffic in both directions, alongside a narrower protected cycleway.

    Silverknowes Road South
Where the Council has drawn up plans to remove the quiet route for cyclists via Silverknowes Court and Silverknowes Place, and instead provide a direct cycle route along Silverknowes Road. This will involve introducing Double Yellow Line restrictions along Silverknowes Road for most of its length between Silverknowes Parkway and Silverknowes Crescent. Parking will be prohibited in the affected area but it will still be possible to stop to pick up or drop off passengers or load/ unload goods from the kerbside. Parking will be retained near the shops and the block of flats by Silverknowes Court. View the plans for Silverknowes Road North and Silverknowes Road South.

The revised layouts for all of these schemes will be advertised via individual ETROs for each scheme.

The ETRO itself can be seen on mapping at https://consultation.appyway.com/edinburgh-city using ref ETRO/21/30C

    General Travelling Safely Update

The 4th September meeting of the TRO Sub-Committee was brought very much back into order by the Council's head of Transport and passed in that meeting the following Travelling Safely permanent TROs without so much as a vote:

    - East Areas
    - North Areas
    - Arboretum Place (with officer amendments)
    - West Areas

South, Greenbank to Meadows Quiet Slash Political Binfire Route, and Braid Rd / Comiston Rd all still to come.

No worries. Council roads report has this down as ‘carriageway surfacing and road marking’ from 1st-5th October.
