    This is the current, provisional, status (29.4.26)

    All are likely to run (most have done so in previous years), other ones are possible.

    If you’ve been on one before or something like Critical Mass you’ll know how it works - stick together and ride in a fashion that is safe for you and everyone else.

    There needs to be someone at the front who knows the route and someone at the back to make sure no one gets left behind (unless they decide to or have an unfixable bike problem).

    Pace is to suit the slowest not the fastest.

    THIS IS EMAIL FROM PoP TO PROSPECTIVE ORGANISERS

    (Email address at bottom if you want to help or are planning a ride that’s not on the map - maybe you could get people together for a short ride to a planned starting point?)

    Pedal on Parliament 2026

    We’d love to see your organisation running a Feeder ride!

    Pedal on Parliament 2026 rides from Middle Meadow Walk to Holyrood, 11:30am on 30th May 2026.

    In the next week, we’ll have our poster/flyering printing done, and our updated manifesto launched.

    Feeder rides from all over Edinburgh, and beyond, make a big difference to help less confident folks participate in the ride, as well as being a fun way for everyone to travel in. While Pedal on Parliament is not responsible for these rides, we want to ensure that we support and resource those running them as best as we can.

    We’re not asking you to run a formal ‘led ride’ - simply to offer moral (and potentially mechanical!) support for folks to ride in together. It’s great if feeder rides can aim to use as much off-road and protected cycle infrastructure as possible along the way to help make the ride as family-friendly as possible, but we also welcome feeder rides that are explicitly following a road route and we can be open about their suitability when listing them online.

    What we can offer

    We are:

    Centrally plotting proactive contact with a number of organisations and supporters around the city who have run feeder rides previously, or who are well placed to contribute;

    Able to help make suggestions about routes, and tying in with other groups we’ve heard might be running a feeder ride;

    Asking that some of our marshals try and join their local feeder ride to support it en-route

    Promoting feeder rides for 2026 on our website (update soon) and social media

    What we need from you

    In four stages:

    Expression of interest; confirm to hello@pedalonparliament.org that you’re able to run a feeder ride on 30th May, with the aim to arrive at the Meadows around 11am

    Your expected route; we’re asking that everyone plots their route using Komoot and shares it with us, which should allow us to gather these routes into a collection there but also for participants to fully understand the way in — and also lets us spot opportunities for feeder rides to pick up others along the way;

    Other details; the point you’re gathering at (landmarks are good!), the time you’re expecting to leave, and any other considerations for your specific ride;

    Promotion: promoting your feeder ride also helps promote PoP26; we can provide some graphics for social media use and / or any RSVP-able online event you might use to track potential attendees.

    If you have any questions or concerns, just drop us a line on hello@pedalonparliament.org

    Feeder rides update:

    Purple are confirmed - Leith, Porty, Bruntsfield, Fairmilehead, Bridgend Farmhouse;

    Orange we still need an organisation or person to take them on. Might noise up Harts about the Corstorphine one, and talking to Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre / ELGT about North West.

    In blue - Harrison Pk (Hi @SRD!), Spylaw Pk (SW20) and South Queensferry (Simon Christie) all expected to be running but have not yet confirmed.

    Also need suggestions for who to noise up outside of Edinburgh about travelling through.

    Thoughts for greater distances?

    with 3 commercial express coach operators & 2 with cycle space reservations assisted outbound/return covered plus 12 trains/hr on on cross Scotland routes, a lot to coordinate

    We love a feeder ride or organised group of folk trekking in, @Tulyar - but sadly we're not set up for resourcing this centrally. I'm just back from a whistle-stop tour of every cycling-related Facebook group in Scotland noising them up (and promoting renewed manifesto launch, and merchandise that launched today) - hopefully that sets some more conversations going.

    Feeder rides coming along nicely... see the webpage.

    Haven't managed to have anyone in Corstorphine raise a hand to run one, nor has Spylaw Park materialised this year as all the SW20 folks are busy. Somebody somewhere sent me a big list of names that might do it and I've misplaced that.

    ...someone from Glasgow who's been on a feeder ride in 2023 got in touch looking to organise so that's promising also.

    Map update, upper left three all join together just waiting for them to confirm timings before sharing route and details.

    Might have missed Bruntsfield (Banzai) off here...

    Yellows still no organisers.
