Any point in asking for A8 issues to be addressed?

So I rode my new cargo bike home to Broxburn from Laid Back the other day and experiencing the A8 path without the front suspension I'm used to has really driven home how much it's degraded from neglect. Quite apart from the overgrown/inadequately trimmed foliage that's a perpetual problem on every path, the surface quality of several stretches is terrible whether due to potholes or huge tree roots pushing up speedbumps.

When I could ride in to Ingliston on the mostly much nicer northerly path and catch the tram the rest of the way it wasn't a big deal, but with the ebike ban that's no longer possible so it's the awful southerly path all the way in to the loop at Gogarburn. I was all ready to write in about it but honestly, is there any point when they'll inevitably just point to the West Edinburgh Transport Improvements Programme that might, maybe, at some unspecified future time once funding has been agreed and the 7th consecutive consulation has has downgraded the plans to "compromise" with carzealots include path resurfacing?

Has there even been any news about WETIP lately? The most recent thing I managed to scrounge up searching was from 2024.

I'd say yes. Resurfacing is far cheaper than designing/building a new path, comes from a different budget pot and should still happen fairly easily.

Tree root-speedbumps could also be an accessibility issue?
