The thing about widening the pavement by GB (long overdue!) is it’s for (top of the priorities) pedestrians (or is it tourists??)
Unfortunately 2nd is squeezed (as ever) and essentially, motor vehicles aren’t

Was there a TRO for this edifice (signed in triplicate in goat’s blood, etc)?
One knows how CEC are sticklers for that kind of thing (ie when it suits motorists)

Notably this is a temporary measure for the festival only and will be removed again. My bet would be same kerbs and asphalt contractor as had been finishing up at Summerhall down the road.

Agree about the need for ASZ just before now - as well as primary cycle markings mid lane and scorching off advisory lane.
