Don’t think there’s a thread, but it must have been mentioned

This is a really good source of money for ‘nice things’ that might not be easily funded in other ways

There’s also the way such things are decided

Some very interesting observations/thoughts here -

    Edinburgh Visitor Levy: New Projects

    City Operations and Infrastructure

    Nature Pathways

4.27 Following the Council decision of 12 February 2026, officers have scoped the improvement and creation of nature footpaths and walkways across Edinburgh, with the aim to encourage visitors to explore beyond the city centre, promoting key destinations such as the Pentland Hills, Cramond Foreshore and the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, while enhancing the overall visitor experience and delivering benefits for local communities and biodiversity.

4.28 £110,000 is required to develop the design specifications, procure capital worksmand carry out community engagement activities.

4.29 £1m capital borrowing, over two years, is required to improve the accessibility of pathways and create new inclusive route. Further information can be found in Appendix 1, with full budget information at Appendix 3.

4.30 It is recommended that this scheme is funded from the City Operations and Infrastructure investment stream.

4.31 All project summary information and EVLAF feedback can be found in Appendix 1
