"DfT figures show cycling casualties up three per cent"

    ...but the numbers of cars on the roads had dropped by 1.6%, numbers of people cycling had gone up. However the overall trend of reported minor accidents, as well as serious and fatal accidents is upwards.

    I think a bigger point than "up 3 percent" is that it's the only transport mode in the study where it's gone up at all, pedestrians and motorcyclists down 8% and cars 11%. Of course it's very hard to work out what all that means without any context around increasing cycling levels / cycle miles.
