£500 Burning a hole in my pocket.. What shops to visit in Edinburgh?

    Hi there folks.
I promise not to overload the board with 'what bike' etc posts so shall try and keep this my last question for now.

I have my eye on a bike or two:
    EBC Cross/sport,
Specialized tri cross ~(used if available etc)
Genesis Day 1 Drop (hopefully in orange).

I'm looking for something nippy for riding around town and longer journeys to get me fit.
Coming from bmx I'm used to single speed and cranking it standing up.
I'm not as fit as I used to be but find I am normally on the highest gears on the cullin so although it's hilly heading to King's Buildings I'm sure my legs would like a single speed.

So come next week I'll have £500 to spare and as with a lot of things I like to source locally.

I know of EBC and Velo Ecosse but where else is worth a visit? I shall have tomorrow afternoon off to go cruise the city and sit on many a saddle.

    Cheers follks

"Edinburgh is fortunate to have a range of shops. Try a few, ask for advice, choose one you feel comfortable with."

If you're talking DIY, worth having a look at Eastside - they sell s/h frames and know about SSing.

Ahh and then they get the fun of 'spotting' you :) Though its not counted as official spot under UCI rules.

The Bicycle repair man often has a few bargains.

Don't know about Broughton, but the Leith micro-climate decidedly balmier than t'other side of North Bridge - just watch the snow change to rain as you cross over.
