Would anyone else like to join a half-term family ride? We're meeting at 3pm on Wednesday 16th, at Harrison Park near the Harrison Road bridge. We'll probably cycle along the canal to a playground or to Spylaw park. Tandems, tag-alongs, trailers and self-propelling children particularly welcome.

Spylaw park is a great destination.
I used to organise annual rides there from Sciennes and Bruntsfield Primaries for parents, teachers and children.
3-4 miles each way - with children as young as 5 on their own bikes

Want to come with us? I rode this route last summer but Andy from Storybikes was leading and I didn't pay much attention to the route! (also can't seem to replicate his route using cyclestreets...)

I'd be up for this but I've got to take a child to the doctors at 4.40pm ....

I know there's a few other dads and mums out there taking time off for half-term, so do PM if you think you might come along....All very welcome, no planned length, but probably a half-hour cycle (max), starting at 3pm, followed by a bit of time for kids to run around, and then back to HP. We'll bring a flask of tea, some biccies, and basic first aid kit (we'll have trailer in addition to tandem).

Thank you for organising this SRD.
Like Recombodna we'll probably want to head home at about 4.30.
Looking forward to it.Posted 13 years ago # -

Collective decision has been taken not to drag kids out in the rain! Sorry everyone, we'll try again, when it is not pouring!!!!!
And with that goes our chance to get some fab tandem pictures :)

Thank you for trying to organise this SRD. We'd be up for a family ride another day when it's a bit warmer/drier. Maybe a weekend would be good too.
