My Rock n' Roll extreme lube had its last squirt last night, and since it's payday tomorrow I thought I'd restock.

Think the suspended stuff was pretty good as it kept my chain clean as a whistle (as opposed to the finish line wet lube, which seemed to have in-built clag attraction additive) and seemed to make the chain run pretty well. Although it doesn't last long.

Should I stick with my knitting or any other recommendations from the panel?

I quite like Squirt in the summer, wingpig wasn't so impressed, its not so good in the winter. I'd go with what you've been using i'm waiting on my cross country stuff to run out so i can buy something better for wet weather.

    Well now!
Where can one purchase said lube? Want to keep my new girl running sweet.

I thought my Fenwick's soggy-bias (purple) stuff was fine until I saw the morning sun highlighting a little crest of rust on my almost brand-new chain last Thursday. I was going to try Finish Line next.

Your handy LBS will be able to advise and sell you various lotions and potions that will keep you running smoothly.

I've also heard it said that there are some online retailers of a wiggly and reactionary nature that stock said items too.

Can't seem to get RnR lube from teh usual stockists, anyone suggests a decent alternative. Quite like the wax in distillate lubes as they keep you're chain cleaner.

One winter dealing with the sheer level of crap stuck to my drivetrain put me off finishline cross country for life.

I also need to find a lube that isn't finishline cross country. Noticed this morning that I'm due a clean / lube session over the weekend. Might see if I can find something new.

Surely some of our more mountainous biking enthusiasts should know what's good for mud/wet/grit-laden environments?

In real crap I use finishline xc. For mountain biking I use a dry lube since I can clean and lube when I get home.

May stop in TBC on the way home get something, couple of days in the elements has my chain picking up a worryingly orange patina.

Just questioning TBC online as I type.

It's the salt. That's one reason why I swapped my wheelset on the hybrid to an old second hand pair (the other reason was the hassle of getting tyres on and off rims). Less rust on the 'summer' cogs...

I like muc off wet lube. It smells nice and is apparently biodegradable. They say it inhibits corrosion and rust. It also seems to perform well and it attracts less dirt than the dry line wet lube. Because of this I have stopped bothering with a dry lube.

May try the Pedros ChainJ as it is stickier than wax lube, but slightly thinner and cleaner than F***** LINE.

he's still in the copilot, rather than being the copilot.

of course when my stoker was in the copilot, she used to sing to me, rather than complain about the chain going orange...
