"Not fixed the Kaff's flat"
Won't take 10 hours...
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Not fixed the Kaff's flat
I've never known someone to make such excuses about fixing a flat! You get 5 minutes with ERC or they leave you at the side of the road to sort yourself out!
8.30
Put kettle on
Get wheel from garage
Make tea
Put glue on
Drink tea
Put patch on
8.45
I'll be heading into town on the Innocent around 9.30am. Probably a bit early to see you. But hope it goes well and we'll expect some new wildlife highlights of the day.
"I like the sound of the pottery beach"
It'll be low tide.
You might have to leave me on the beach then if you have pressing afternoon engagements
Not fixed the flat cos out of patches! Found one manky one this morning, but can't find the cleats to swap over on the shoes now!
Excuses, excuses! tube out of another bike?
Doesn't solve the cleat issue! (damned crank brothers pedals that can only be taken off by an allen key so can't get my big pedal spanner onto them. :( )
Anyway, it's not as if I don't ride fixed all the time and everywhere anyway!
Annoyingly looks like tailwind out and headwind back - much prefer it the other way!
Wheel off another bike? Pedals off another bike? You've a garageful of the things.
(edit1) ...and if you didn't grease the pedals properly when you put them on and now can't get them off, well...
(edit2) ...you never said it was the back wheel.
As posted above, pedals won't come off without a big long-levered allen key. Wheels won't work cos one is fixed wheel, the other geared...
I'm actually, honestly, not complaining about riding fixed! And it's dry so the mudguard issue is less of an issue!
(I will, however, be on the hunt for a long handled allen key to finally synchronise all the pedals on the bikes, and buy a new puncture repair kit).
Ive got an allen key, and patches, and I live just down the prom...
And I thought I specialised in 'everything at the last minute'.
I'm currently ahead of schedule.
Just about.
It's not last minute! I decided last night to take the Peacemaker! Everything is perfectly organised!
Ruggers, does it have a looooooong handle? In which case I may seek to borrow - it's either 6 or 8mm. My fold out keys just don't give me the leverage.
short allen key plus adjustable wrench = giant allen key!
