Watch out for the black ice on the side streets, particularly out West.

Myself and a colleague both took very ungraceful spills - fortunately I went over sideways onto the opposite side from my pannier and derailleurs and managed to skin my knee and elbow without actually tearing any clothing. Colleague managed to come off over the front and took a bit more of a battering than I did.

Humbug! And here was me thinking what a beautiful morning it was and everything.

Yeah I have a "friend" who might have UPD'd right in front of someone on this very forum this morning. :-(

Yes - it was quite nasty. Hopefully we won't have too many more mornings like that for a while. I took the bus.

Loads of black ice up at Fairmilehead. It might as well have been snow because of the extra walking time I put in. I'd've taken three wheels but no mudguards and it's meant to be raining later on.

Never saw a single flick of ice till I got to maybury, then nearly fell a over t twice :) Think that's one of the joys of the salt air doon by the watter, don't notice it's cold till I get to the top of the hill, and by then I'm pretty thoroughly warmed up.

My embarrassment came with riding alongside Kaputnik with the squealiest brakes this side of an ASDA BSO.

I hope everyone is ok, may take a little while for the bruises to form. I was having bad insomnia last night and considered going for a spin about 5 am, I'm glad I didn't now!

-2°C on our kitchen window ledge at 0700 prompted me to take the bus; once I'd spotted the minus sign. I'm frost-averse at the moment - and it does seem to get slippier out west.

Large icy puddle on the footbridge at Brunstane but the Innocent Path was mostly thawed. Probably bad earlier.
