    Well now.
    What an adventure I've had.
A tale of tension, worry and rubber...

Got a pair of Specialized Sonomas and standard shimano SPD's this morning. Much excitement from me and much grumbling from my student overdraft.
All wasn't well once I got home as it seemed someone had stolen one of the cleat bolts.
Not to worry a quick call to le shop and a spare is ready and waiting for me...
On goes my pedals, on goes the cleat and clip clip I go in the hall.
Left foot unclips fine but the right...

OH BU**ER... Because there's only one screw the cleat twists with the movement of the shoe.
Off comes the pedal and much frustration and de tensioning and about 20 minutes of unscrewing the bolt by lifting the pedal, twisting, lowering, lift twist etc it eventually comes off.

Phew. Off comes the cleat and off I go with one foot clipped in and the other cleatless to the shop.
Just cycled backed and Oh My Golly Gosh they are brilliant!
I don't know why I didn't buy them straight away. So responsive and I'm sure my feet are automatically working on the upstroke too.
No doubt I will topple off at somepoint while trackstanding but until then I shall continue to zoom around.

So aye, appologies for the length of this pointless post ;)

Try taking an SPD apart then you realise the amount of tension in that spring when you try and put it all back together without a vice and six hands
